Summary Pollen production per flower and germination rate of seedless watermelon cv. TSS No.2 male parent reached the highest at 50 to 80 days after transplanting and the number of pollen grain per flower reduced to less than 1500 at fruit maturing stage. Pollen collection between 6:30 to 8:30 A.M. had the highest collection efficiency, but is significantly reduced after 10:30 A.M. in spring crop. Detached male flowers stored in unhumidified petri dish which released less pollen grains than those stored in humidified treatment Percent of pollen germination is reduced at temperature lower than 16℃ or higher than 28℃. Pollinated with pollen of newly opened flower had the highest fruit setting and number of seeds per fruit.
