Multiplet Energy Levels in 209Bi

A calculation of the energy levels of Bi^239 has been carried out by using the single-particle and 3^- phonon coupling, which includes the contributions from Pauli-principle violation terms. The effective mass (or energy) of the single particle level i13/2 is also calculated by diagonalizing matrices of n particles n-l hole states, where n=1, and 2. The result is in good agreement with Bertsch and Kuo's perturbation calculation.
