以Ethylene Oxide氣體消毒的同種異體骨移植

在骨科手術中所切除的肢骨頭及頸部通常都被丟棄,似乎有些浪費自然資源。為了節約自然資源,減少取骨處的發病率,縮短手術時間;我們以手術中取出肢骨頭及項部,經處理及Ethylene Oxide氣體消毒後,用來做為同種異體的骨移植使用。本文報告骨骼處理及保在的方法,並同時報告令人鼓舞的臨床結果-35位骨折及關節固定術等病患都獲得很好的骨癒合。

The resected femoral heads during orthopaedic surgery were discarded usually in those hospitals, which were not equipped with deep freezer. For the purpose of preserving natural resources, reducing the possible morbidity of the bone graft donor site and shortening of the operation time, a bone bank was established by using the ethylene oxide sterilized resected femoral heads. The way to preserve and sterilize the bone was introduced, and the bone was proven to be sterile by cultures. The clinical results by using this ethylene oxide sterilized bone allograft had no difference as compared with autogenous bone graft, which were proved by 35 patients suffering from fracture, nonunion or arthrodesis.
