Metallome Causing Femoral Vein Thrombosis: A Case Report

金屬瘤導致股靜脈血栓-病例報告

並列摘要

All the materials in joint replacement, including metal, polyethylene, and polymethylmethacrylate (cement), could produce wear debris. Wear debris can induce osteolysis, granuloma formation, prosthesis loosening and fracture. We present a case, a 51 year-old man, with deep vein thrombosis of left leg, and huge left iliac fossa and gluteal granulomas, resulting from wear debris from the hip prosthesis. Excision of granulomas, venoplasty for deep femoral vein thrombophlebitis, and revisional total hip replacement were performed. Postoperatively, the left leg swelling subsided gradually and the left hip demonstrated an excellent clinical result at follow-up evaluation 18 months after surgery.
