The aim of this study is to introduce the field measurement to evaluate the performance of historical buildings. For this reason, six cases of historical buildings from I-Lan County in Taiwan were investigated. The comparisons of various construction types (reinforced concrete, wood and brick structure) and renovation manners were addressed in this study. Field measurements in the summer and winter seasons were conducted. The 24-hours continuous monitorings were carried out for different thermal magnitude. Results showed that the apparent differences were represented by the various cases.
