The Effect of STEM Education Application to Fashion Design

Parallel abstracts

This study aims to investigate the effects of STEM application in fashion design. A quasi-experiment design was carried out to help investigate the increase in students' completion of design and design innovation with the adaption of STEM. In this study, students from the department of fashion design at a university of technology were separated into two groups; control group (regular designs) and experimental group (STEM integration designs). Both groups were instructed to design and make bags. SPSS was the method used to analyze the collected data, and the result was independent with paired sample t test for reliability. The conclusions drawn from the research are as follows: The design performance of the experimental group was significantly higher than the controlled group.
