摘要

本研究引用創新傳佈理論探討台灣新聞人員的電腦網路使用行為。本研究採用隨機抽樣法，分別在1994年及2004年對台灣新聞人員進行問卷調查。研究結果發現，在1994年時，只有30%左右的新聞人員需要使用電腦網路處理新聞工作。到了2004年，已有近93%的新聞人員在處理日常工作時需要使用電腦網路。在新聞人員需要採用電腦處理的工作方面，本研究發現在1994年，新聞人員最常使用電腦輸入稿件及建立個人資料；到2004年，新聞人員最常使用電腦網路查詢新聞相關資料及使用資料庫。此外，本研究也發現，相對優勢是預測新聞人員電腦網路使用的最重要變項。

The study was designed to examine the Internet use of Taiwan journalists from the perspective of diffusion of innovations. Using random sampling, a nationwide survey of journalists was conducted in 1994 and again in 2004. The results of the study showed that the Internet use of Taiwan journalists rose from 30% in 1994 to 93% in 2004. In 1994, keying news stories and collecting information for personal use were the primary reasons journalists used a computer. In 2004, searching for news related information and using online databases were the major reasons to use computer. Further, the results of the study indicate that relative advantage is the significant factor that determines the use of computer and the Internet.
