Museum exhibitions focusing on medicine are well established in Europe, America and Japan. In Taiwan, the possibility of using medical museums as part of medical humanities education deserves further exploration and discussion. We analyzed the term reports of 125 second-year medical students after they had visited the Medical Humanity Building of National Taiwan University. Here, we sum up the topics and objects viewed and use these results to identify the implications for the humanities in medicine. According to our results, the educational tour of the Medical Humanities Building played a novel role in medical humanities education and inspired the students’ awareness of the humanities, allowed reflection on ethics, and gave insights into various social values.
