The aim of this article is to introduce an effective format for a teaching skills workshop. This workshop format consists of one or more basic units with each basic unit consisting of a built-in structure, the so called ”3D+RFR” (that is [describe, demonstrate, do]+[reflection-feedback-rehearsal]). This workshop format is able to avoid some of the common disadvantages associated with traditional workshops that are used for teaching skills. These include the dissociation between didactic lectures and rehearsals, that some of the participants miss the chance to experience some important issues, and that many include listening to the unhelpful reports from other teams. In addition, this approach has several advantages that make the workshop format more effective, including learning by multiple approaches, greater flexibility and enhancement of the participants' interest.
