The purpose of the article is to investigate the historical significance of the 26th Yearbook, one of the most important documents in curriculum history in the USA in particular and the world in general. The yearbook ”The foundations and technique of curriculum-construction” published by the National Society for the Study of Education in 1927 consists of two volumes: ”Curriculum-making: Past and present” and ”The foundations of curriculum-making.” The article is divided into four sections except the introduction and conclusion. The background of the yearbook's publication as well as the scan view of each volume is explicated in first four sections; in the fifth section, the historical significance of the yearbook is analyzed as facilitating the specialization of curriculum field, stimulating of the professionalization of the curriculum personnel, the establishment of the curriculum consensus, and setting up the guidelines of curriculum making.
