This study explores the experienced of advanced maternal age from being informed amniocentesis to actual implement. The study subjects were 22 women of advanced maternal age. The field methodology ”observer as participant” was adopted in this study. During this period, the interview and participant observation methods are used to understand the opinions and behaviors of the research subjects. The researcher wrote down as a narrative process. The data were analyzed though content analysis. Five main themes of experience were identified: enmeshing poor information doctor-to-patient, besiege distress of motherhood, experienced struggle in making choices, balancing reject of support system, and afraid of the body boundary invaded and suffering a loss of integrity. This study offers useful information to nurses caring for women of advanced maternal age and amniocentesis.
