A 65-year-old woman patient with bonlfractures of right hand 2nd finger and left tibia in a traffic accident, was admitted to the hospital from May 10, 2001 to May 20, 2001. We investigated the influence of fracture on her personal health physiology and mental status during her hospitalization. The Orem theory was applied to her and we found five main nursing problems as Follows: Pain, activity defect, self-care ability deficiency, high risk of infection and impaired adjustment. Our goal for the patient was to make her enforce cognition attitude and self-care ability.
