This thesis is a case study on Liang Qichao and Wang Guowei's theory of literary criticism. The author demonstrates that the common thought between Liang Qichao and Wang Guowei is their acceptance of Western heterogeneous theory as well as highly-interests on the Western logic and rational thinking system. Whereas, they both neglected the prose text, dialogue text of Western theory, and the approximate characteristics of thinking between Western literary theory and Ancient Chinese literary theory. The characteristics of the transformation in Theoretical discourse continue to today, accompanied by misreading component. However, their theories also have the components which initiate the Chinese tradition, and these components did not be given our sufficient attention. Consequently, it is very essential and urgent to reorganize the complexity of the transition in theoretical discourse of Liang Chichao and Wang Guowei's literary criticism. The reorganization can help us to correct our cognition about the heterogeneity of Western theoretical discourse of literary criticism and the patterns of thinking, and construct ”the complexity of thought” model.
