居家醫療整合照護計畫中呼吸治療師的專業角色
Professional Role of Respiratory Therapists in the Integrated Home Medical Care
摘要
近年來台灣人口老化快速，隨著年齡結構的改變，長期照護需求日受重視。為提升因失能或疾病特性致外出就醫不便個案之醫療照護可近性，全民健康保險「居家醫療照護整合計畫」連結醫院到社區，提供個案不間斷的居家醫療照護服務。呼吸治療師於此跨醫事領域醫療團隊中運用呼吸治療專業知識，結合呼吸器與氧氣設備等技術，依疾病狀況為病患提供專業且適當的呼吸治療照護，擔負呼吸治療照護者、健康諮商者、教學研究者等多種角色與任務，為醫療團隊中提供專業照護不可或缺的專業醫療人員之一。

The demand for long term care has become a primary issue in Taiwan due to the increase of aging population in recent years. To improve medical care accessibility for patients not accessible to regular medical resources because of disabilities or disease conditions, the National Health Insurance Collaborative Home Care Plan was implemented to extend hospital care to community through medical team home visits. With professional knowledge of respiratory, ventilator and oxygen facilities, the respiratory therapist can provide the most appropriate respiratory care tailoring to patient’s disease condition in the multidisciplinary medical home care team. A respiratory therapist also plays multiple roles such as health counselor/educator and academic researcher. Respiratory therapist is one of the mandatory members in a professional medical care team.
