Spiritual care is a very important part of hospice and palliative care. Religion is assumed to be the major but not exclusive component for spiritual care. With the development of hospice care in Taiwan, it is witnessed that religious clergies are actively passionately involved. The present study investigated one Buddhist, one Catholic sister, and one Christian priest for their recognition of the involvement of religion with hospice care. ”Sharing with one's religious tradition” is provided only when necessary with extremely caution. Research participants were also inquired about their personally recognized role and identity, and job specification. It was found that these religious clergies were positive regarding the role of religion in hospice. They also demonstrate a ”supportive” ideology for their participation in the hospice team. It is concluded that, in Taiwan, the involvement of religion and hospice should be recognized positively.
