The study uses a single group pretest-posttest design. Approximately 90% of students surveyed felt satisfied with the program in terms of its effectiveness in developing nursing competence and creativity; significant differences exist between (the pre-and post-test conditions for the results of surveys on student development of nursing competence (t=-6.127, p<.016) and creativity (t=-3.192, p<.016), furthermore, significant differences (t=2.55, p<.016) existed in student satisfaction with medical-surgical nursing courses between the pre- and posttest conditions. The ”creative teaching of case study” yields significant results when applied in medical-surgical nursing. Furthermore, student findings revealed that the proposed program facilitates more effective learning, including active and independent thinking, learning challenge, communication skills and cooperation. In contrast, some students feel stress, spend more time on researching the literature, and have difficulty discussing deeply. This investigation suggests that future studies should formulate a solution to overcome any practical difficulties in using the proposed program.
