In order to promote the employment of young people and development of leisure industry, the Council of Labor Affairs launched the ”Leisure Activity Instructor Vocational Training Program” for those unemployed youths who aged from 18-24. However, did the practice of this program reach the goal of training young people to attain capability for employment? To answer this question, the researchers took the self-edited ”Leisure Activity Instructor Capability Questionnaire” including three subscales of ”Self concept”, ”Interpersonal communication capability” and ”Life effectiveness” as the research tool to evaluate the effects for this vocational training program. According to the research, there were three main results: 1. Self-concept: The participants got improved on all subscales of self-concept. After the pre-post test of all the subscales, the ”physical self”, ”emotional self”, ”peer self” and the total scale of self were significantly improved (p<.05). 2. Interpersonal communication: The participants got increased on some subscales (including: ”reaction to language”, ”relationship building”, ”open communication” and total scale of ”interpersonal communication”) while decreased on the others (including: ”expressing communication”, ”reaction to social situation”, ”empathy communication” and ”communication effect”). After the pre-post test of all the subscales, the ”reaction to language” and ”open communication” were significantly improved (p<.05). 3. Life Effectiveness: Except for the subscale of ”Intellectual flexibility”, the participants got subscales, the ”time management”, ”social competence”, ”task leadership”, ”emotional control”, ”locus of control” and the total scale of life effectiveness were significantly improved (p<.05). According to the results, the researchers also made some suggestions for the research limitation, following research and future planning for courses in the hope to make this research more contributive.
