偏鄉婦女資源、資訊近用與社會參與之探討 -以金門縣數位機會中心為例

The Effects of Resources and Information Access on Social Participation among Rural Area Women – The Case Study of Kinmen Digital Opportunity Center

摘要


本研究以Van Dijk的資源理論為架構,探討參與金門縣數位機會中心電腦研習課程之成年女性,其個人背景是如何影響其資源之分配。而其所擁有的資源又如何影響其資訊近用(動機近用、物質近用、技能近用、使用近用)。在資訊近用後,又如何提昇其社會參與。 研究對象取樣自金門縣五個DOC成年女性學員,本次施測的學員有99人,回收87份,其中有效問卷82份。經統計分析,得到女性擁有資源、資訊近用與社會參與的關聯性分析結果,研究發現如下: 1.資訊近用主要受資源的影響,其中物質資源影響最大、其次是文化 資源,時間資源影響較小,社會資源則沒有影響。 2.社會參與主要受資訊近用的影響,其中又以使用近用影響最大,其 次是動機近用、物質近用,技能近用與社會參與無關。社會參與受 資源的影響甚小。 研究結果顯示資源理論大致上適用於金門離島地區,離島女性的技能近用與使用近用才是落差的關鍵。要改善落差可以從提昇女性文化資源、提高女性動機近用及使用近用、補助弱勢購置電腦做起。進而提昇女性在資訊近用的程度,以擴大社會的參與。 關鍵字:資源理論、資訊近用、動機近用、物質近用、技能近用、 使用近用、社會參與

This study is founded on Van Dijk’s Resources Theory, which explores how the adult women’s private backgrounds affect the resource distribution, how the personal resources affect their Information Access (Motivational Access, Material Access, Skill Access, and Usage Access), and how the Information Access improves their social participation after they attend the computer curriculum in Kinmen County Digital Opportunity Center (DOC). The samples consisted of 99 adult women from 5 DOCs in Kinmen County, and a total of 82 usable responses were received out of an eligible sample of 87. After the statistical analysis of these samples, the main conclusions about the relationship among women’s individual resources, Information Access, and the social participation were summarized as below: 1. Information Access is mainly affected by resources: Material Resources the most, Cultural Resources the second, few Temporal Resources, and none of Social Resources. 2. Social participation is mainly affected by Information Access: Usage Access the most, Motivational Access and Material Access the second, and none of Skill Access. Social participation is little affected by resources. The results show that Resources Theory broadly applies to Kinmen County. To reduce the gap, off-shore island adult women need to improve their Skill Access and Usage Access by enhancing their cultural resources, lifting Motivational Access and Usage Access, subsidizing computers for the minority, and balancing gear. Then, women’s Information Access can be improved, and their social participation can be expanded simultaneously.
