摘要

台灣西洋音樂的發展與從西洋傳入的教會音樂有密切的關係。台灣長老教會的音樂經過初期發展，到了日治時期漸漸有了自己的創作。本論文首先探討長老教會初期聖詩的萌芽和發展，並介紹外國宣教師如馬偕 (George Leslie Mackay)、吳威廉牧師娘 (Margaret A. Gauld) 和德明利姑娘 (Isabel Taylor) 等人對台灣教會音樂的貢獻。其次，敘述本地音樂家的養成，以陳泗治、駱維道和蕭泰然三位音樂家的學習經歷、貢獻和創作為探討對象，藉由分析他們宗教音樂中代表作品的風格和特色，以呈現台灣基督教長老教會從日治時期至1970年代的音樂發展。

After 1860, Taiwan Christian Music disseminated from western countries. Through early development, Taiwan Christian Presbyterianism gradually have themselves’ works. First, the thesis introduce hymns’ germination and development of Taiwan Christian Presbyterianism, and foreign missionaries make great contribution to Taiwan church music. Second, research on three local musicians’(Su-Ti Chen, I-To Loh, and Tyzen Hsiao) carrier, contribution, and works, to present Taiwan Christian Presbyterianism Music development from 1895 to 1970.
