This thesis presents the writer’s translation of the book “JOY” written by Osho, and discussion of the translation process, techniques applied to speech, along with a comparison of the my translation and the text of a published Chinese version. The thesis is divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 provides the origin and motive of the study. Chapter 2 introduces the author and content of the book. Chapter 3 duscusses the translation process. Chapter4 is the translated text of “JOY.” Chapter5 is an analysis of the translation techniques involved. Chapter 6 concludes with a summary of the writer’s experience in translating the book and suggestions on the basis of her experience in translating the book.
