This research examines the woodworking machines trade from Taiwan to Peru, focusing particularly on edgebanders. Villa El Salvador Industrial Park is Peru's leading industrial park for small and medium enterprises, where woodworking is one of the major manufacturing activities at the park, and requires a wide variety of machines, such as edgebanders, which are used for gluing edges of PVC, melamine or veneer, on straight, round or shaped panels with hot melt glue. The objective of this thesis is focused on determining the viability of exporting Taiwanese edgebanders into the Peruvian market; in addition this research will serve as a basis for preparing an exportation plan to assess the viability of launching a Taiwanese-made specific product into the Peruvian market. We demonstrate that exporting edgebanders from Taiwan to Peru is highly viable, and selling edgebanders on the Peruvian market is a profitable business opportunity. Although our research focuses on the export of edgebanders, this research also has implications for the export of other types of woodworking machinery from Taiwan to Peru, because the industry in Peru is developing, and with the concepts applied in this research could be easily implemented on other exports guide for Taiwanese machines to the Peruvian market.
