三維圓球顆粒運動之數值模擬

Numerical Simulation of Three-Dimensional Round Particles

摘要


本文以Cundall所提出的分離元素法(DEM)作為發展三維顆粒理論之基礎,文中包含了接觸判斷法則、摩擦力討論,以及利用能量與動量守恆定律加以驗證等說明,最後再驗證相關推導之正確性並撰寫程式執行之。 以往顆粒理論於二維程式中並無法模擬出較真實的現象,原因在於二維顆粒程式中只能看到顆粒於平面上的運動情形,故本文發展目的即是將二維顆粒型式推廣至三維型式,希望模擬問題時,能以較真實的情形呈現。另外,在以往顆粒力學發展過程中,對於接觸力的計算方式係以接觸面之接觸點相對速度投影於正向方向求得正向位移量,再利用向量相減的方式求取切向位移量,而本文在此部份則作了新的改良,並提出討論。另外,本文也發展了部份移動邊界的接觸判斷法則及相關應用層面的研究,希望藉由數值模擬的結果,反映出顆粒與邊界間相互作用時的運動行為為何。 最後,則是動量-衝量方程與傳統動力方法於接觸力處理部份的精確性及穩定性的比較,經研究後發現動量-衝量方程於正向碰撞模擬時,精確性及穩定性確實較傳統動力為佳,且發現前者在不失可靠精度情況下,可選用的接觸彈簧勁度值範圍較後者廣。

In this paper, a three-dimensional ball theory based on Discrete Element Method (DEM) original proposed by Cundall(1971) was developed and the rules of contact detection, calculations of contact force and frictions are discussed. Besides, the conservation of energy and conservation of momentum are verified. Lastly, the accuracy and feasibility of proposed program are also validated. Because the two-dimensional disks are not able to simulate the realistic phenomenon of particle motion, thus a three-dimensional particle theory is developed. In this study, the concept of relative motion was applied in the calculations of contact force and frictions. Lastly, the accuracy and stability of the traditional equilibrium of force and equilibrium of momentum-impulse are compared in discrete element method. Results showed that in the normal contact the accuracy and stability of momentum-impulse equilibrium are better than the traditional force equilibrium. Also, the former could have a wider range of contact spring stiffness without losing accuracy.
