This thesis is a commentary on the Chinese translation of “After the End of Art:Contemporary Art and the Pale of History” The translator engages herself in the background knowledge acquisition needed for the task and then after completion of the translation, makes self-critique on the strategies applied. Being the author of the thesis,the translator aspires not just to finish the translation but to do in-depth researches on art and aesthetics. Taking care of theoretical and practical tasks at the same time, the translator hopefully makes this informative and inspiring masterpiece of contemporary western art shared by Chinese readers.
