Previous studies and theory imply that the overlap of externalizing behavior problems with academic achievement in childhood is influenced by such antecedent variables as SES and IQ .To confirm this suggestion, researcher built up a model and hypothesis was tested with boys(N=194)recruited from 34 schools in Taiwan. Standardized assessment of IQ was conducted, externalizing behavior was rated by parents and teachers, and survey data of SES and academic achievement were collected. Results of LISREL analyses from the samples indicated that the model doesn’t fit with empirical data well, and then researcher proposed a modified model. Based on the findings, discussion and implications were proposed.
