From the everyday life and daily activities of the foreign laborers, we can argue that Taiwan is a multicultural society with people and groups coming from different countries that reside in Taiwan permanently and temporarily. Simply put, Taiwan is a multicultural melting pot. These ethnic groups bring Taiwan different languages, religions, customs, norms, and cultures from their home countries. However, the cultural differences between different ethnic groups often create barriers between them because of limited interaction and exchange. Therefore, it is essential to provide a space for multicultural activities, because a multi-functional space can offer these people room for activities, interaction, and cultural exchange. Promoting cultural exchange and interaction, it also promotes Taiwan’s international image—a multicultural space in the global village.Unfortunately, Taiwan is devoid of such common space and diverse facilities for multicultural activities. This creates significant problems for people of different racial and ethnic origins in their everyday lives and daily activities.
