There is less research that emphasizes the role of sophisticated participation in the real estate auction market. This study provides new evidence on the outcomes of auctions of residential real estate, focusing on the effects of investor structure. The empirical results were clear as follows. After the regime enforced sophisticated investors, some determinant of auctions price was not statistically significant. Our results can give potentially important implications for policy makers concerned about the consequences of the changing market participation.
