The concepts and scales of psychological competitive ability fit are already examined and created by earlier researches. However, investigations on relationship between psychological competitive ability fit and athletic performance or team satisfaction still needed to be investigated. Besides, although recent researches suggest that professional commitment becomes a more important concept and athletes' professional commitment is also an influential factor affecting athletic performance and team satisfaction, there are still no related studies in Taiwan. Therefore, this research starts investigating the relationship of psychological competitive ability fit and professional commitment's relationship with performance and team satisfaction. Participants include 617 judo athletes from judo school teams of 28 colleges and high schools. Study findings show significant positive correlation between psychological competitive ability fit and performance/team satisfaction, suggesting the higher the psychological competitive ability fit, the better an athlete performs. Regression analysis shows professional commitment has significantly positive predictive power on performance and team satisfaction. Contributions, limitations, and future directions are also discussed.
