朝陽科技大學通識教育的理念和實踐

The Ideals and Fulfillments of the General Education in Chaoyang University of Technology

摘要


朝陽科技大學自民國八十三年創立之後,即成立通識教育中心,歷經全體同仁綜合各校發展的經驗,及本校創校建校的歷史背景,戮力以赴,精心擘畫,在教育部委託中華民國通識教育學會,辦理技職校院通識教育評鑑中,脫穎而出,榮獲特優的成果,顯示朝陽辦學對於通識教育的認知,具有前瞻性和獨特性。筆者在朝陽大學通識教育中心服務七年,其中八十六到八十八學年度擔任中心主任一職,任內完成新課程結構的規劃,以及日後爲因應時代需求,逐年修正課程的機制,至今已行之有年,本文僅就朝陽通識教育的發展經驗,作系統化的介紹和說明。

The General Education Center, CYUT, was established in 1994, the same year when the Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) was established. Our faculty, integrating valued experiments of the other developed colleges with CYUT’s particular historic conditions into a whole, dedicated to create a praiseworthy program. This program was evaluated as “excellent” grade in the investigative review, hosted by the Chinese Academy of General Education under the authorization of the Ministry of Education, R. O. C., for the technological universities or colleges’ general education programs. As a result, CYUT’s academic program is especially forerunning in its ideals about the general education. The author, who worked at CYUT’s General Education Center for seven years, led the faculty to complete a new structure of its general education courses and to create a system which could improve its courses according to the contemporary needs when he served as the chair of the center from the academic year 1997~1998 to 1999~2000. In this paper, the author will systematically introduce and illuminate the experiences and development of CYUT’s general education.
