Rethinking the disguise, dilution and renewal of reli gions transplanting in other cultures:Take CGM's loc alization experience in Taiwan as an example

How to adapt to the local society when Korean new religions s pread in different cultural areas, in addition to the adjustment of inherent t heological ideas, the method of transmission is a key element, including th e name of the organization and the content of delivery. Lee Zhihan propose d the renewal theory of disguise and dilution. He tried to prove that when the Unification Church and Soka Gakkai developed in the United States, th ey successfully adapted to American society with the strategy of disguising organizations and diluting content. This article quotes Lee's theory and appli es it to the development of the CGM (Christian Gospel Mission), a new K orean religion in Taiwan, to explore whether the strategy of disguising orga nizations and diluting content can also be applied. According to the author's research, during the development of CGM in Taiwan, especially during the ten years of 2009-2018, the number of people has doubled. Its strategy is biased to reveal the organization and content, and make natural adjustments to the organization and content. Through this article, it is found that althou gh they are all new Korean religions, the way that CGM adapts in Taiwan is different from the way that Unification Church adapts in the United Stat es.
