Interactions between political operations and timocracy have recently come to the attention of the world. Despite the fact that democracies exhort much effort in restraining this through regulations, cases still exist where legal loopholes are found and exploited. Such relationships between businesspeople and political officials can very well negatively affect the latter's reputation and shake the people's confidence in democracy. It is especially difficult to rid Taiwan of timocracy due to her nature as an ethnically Chinese nation, as well as having yet to fully consolidate her democratization. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to give consideration to both Taiwan's political situation and feasible regulations regarding political donations.
