戰後臺灣佛教史研究與高等教育─以國立中正大學對於中國佛教會遷臺檔案之整理與利用為例

摘要

戰後臺灣佛教歷經1949年中國佛教會遷臺和復會的影響，走過政治戒嚴、反共抗俄階段的艱辛與突破困境的努力，以及解嚴後，激盪出現代臺灣佛教多元與國際化的新佛教文化發展。2006年，由於時任中國佛教會理事長的淨良法師深感戰後臺灣佛教，與1949年中國佛教會遷臺和復會的發展有著密不可分的關係，加上解嚴後兩岸佛教的交流與互動日趨頻繁。因此，為期臺灣佛教歷史發展的實錄與存史，以及增進兩岸佛教交流的互信和瞭解，故與國立中正大學歷史學系暨研究所的顏尚文、楊維真教授等師生及闞正宗博士合作於2008年至2010年連續進行該會戰後六十年來，計有三十餘萬件的檔案之數位掃瞄保存和彙編整理，並於2010年發表整理成果及完成戰後中國佛教會歷屆理監事會會議紀錄的編輯出版，為國內外學術界和兩岸佛教界所重視。以此契機從而讓臺灣佛教研究與國內高等教育結合，除了達到臺灣佛教檔案史料數位保存的目標，進而培養出多位碩博士研究生以研究臺灣佛教史為學位論文的發展，注入教史研究的生力軍，開啟臺灣佛教史研究的新頁。

Since the Chinese Buddhist Association(中國佛教會)relocated to Taiwan in 1949, it resumed Buddhist activities, changed its name to the Buddhist Association of the Republic of China, went through the martial law, endured hardship, and broke through difficulties during the periods of all citizens against the Russians and the Chinese Communists. After martial law was lifted, modern Taiwanese Buddhism ventured into a new era of multiculturalism and international development. As the association originated from China and out of the progressive frequent contact between the cross-strait Buddhist communities, the chairperson of the Buddhist Association of the Republic of China at 2006, Master Shih Jing-liang(釋淨良), approached Professors Shang-wen Yen(顏尚文)and Wei-chen Yang(楊維真) as well as Dr. Cheng-tsung Kan(闞正宗)for a huge undertaking from 2008-2010 to digitize and study over 300,000 accounts of material regarding the past six decades of Buddhist activities to preserve and document modern Taiwanese Buddhist history. The final result was published as research papers as well as proceedings of annual association meeting minutes since 1949, which were highly valued by academia and Buddhists on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. This project is a perfect collaboration of Taiwanese Buddhist research and higher education. In addition to digitizing Taiwanese Buddhist data, many graduate students involved in this project composed theses or dissertations on this topic that brought new blood into Buddhist studies and shed new light on Taiwanese Buddhist history.
