The patient is a 23-year-old unmarried female nurse. Her first menstrual period was 12 years old. The menstrual cycle was normal at the beginning, until she started working as a nurse more than 2 years ago. She noticed that her menstruation was obviously abnormal. Sometimes menstruation will come in 2 weeks, and sometimes it will be delayed. If the delay exceeds 2 weeks, she will go to the obstetrics and gynecology department to take menstruation drugs, so her menstrual cycle is about 15-50 days. The patient started taking Chinese medicine regularly in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since May 2020. The TCM doctor differentiate the syndrome of liver-Qi stagnation combined with liver-blood deficiency, and give TCM treatment of soothing the liver and regulating Qi and nourishing liver blood. After that, her menstrual cycle tended to be normal, and there was no need to go to the Western Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Department to regulate her period. Therefore, TCM treatment is obviously helpful for irregular menstruation.
