身體活動與兒童青少年肥胖專論

摘要


肥胖症(obesity)已經是全球性的問題,而最近幾年兒童青少年肥胖的盛行情況也逐年增加,肥胖症對身體的健康有諸多負面的影響,肥胖患者易患有高血壓(hypertension)、血脂異常(dyslipidemia)等代謝症候群(metabolic syndrome),所以必須提出有效的防範策略以對抗日益嚴重的肥胖問題。雖然肥胖是許多因素相互作用造成的結果,但一般認為環境因素比遺傳因素更為重要,且許多研究也顯示身體活動與肥胖之間有相當大的關係。本文探討身體活動在體重控制上所扮演的角色,建議在未達過重或肥胖前就要有適當的身體活動量。也提出一些對抗兒童青少年肥胖的介入策略,如增加身體活動量、減少坐式生活習慣、改變飲食習慣、學校本位課程介入、課後和暑假育樂營介入及社區醫療介入等建議,並希望未來可以制定更完善的防範策略。

Obesity is a global problem now. Childhood and adolescent obesity has also been prevalent in recent years. There are some consequences of obesity, such as hypertension, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome, and etc. Therefore, we should come up with some strategies for the prevention of obesity. Although obesity is a complex condition consisting of genetic and environmental factors, the environmental factor is more important than others. Several researches also presented the negative relationship between physical activity and obesity. Therefore, this review article discusses the role of physical activity in weight management and provides preventive strategies regarding childhood and adolescent obesity. Hopefully, this article will be able to provide some suggestions (e.g. increasing Physical Activity, decreasing sedentary behaviors, altering food consumption patterns, school-based interventions, after school and summer camp interventions and medical community interventions) leading to more comprehensive strategies in preventing and treating childhood and adolescent obesity.
