Since 2011, the Taiwanese government has extensively promoted marine education, with museums serving as major arenas for nonformal education. Among them, the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology has promoted marine education through various teaching approaches. Due to its features and concern for environmental issues, it has sought to explore the relationships between humans and the environment and museums and art through environmental art curation. The aim of this paper is to investigate the views of visitors on environmental art and its influence on marine awareness. Content analysis was performed on visitor photographs and captions posted to the social media platform Instagram. From the results of this study, the content of visitor posts focused on specific works. However, such works were not an effective medium for enhancing marine-related awareness. Moreover, the orientation of individual gaze was different. It is recommended that marine education courses and teacher training be strengthened. In terms of curation, different marine educational themes should be explored, with the addition of relatable promotional content, to enhance marine education.
