隨著學習華語成為國際潮流的開始,各國政府也著手進行小學兒童華語課程的規畫,兒童華語教材需求增加,筆者有鑒於此,希望能根據第二語言習得理論及兒童語言發展理論,在任務型教學法的框架下,以讓兒童在活動中學習,在自然的活動進行中培養語言興趣、語言習慣及能力為目的,設計適合兒童語言發展的華語教材。 本研究主要採用的是「觀察法」、「內容分析法」及「問卷及訪談調查法」,目的在於針對英語為母語的海外兒童,以任務型教學活動為主,研究適合的華語學習教材。筆者將歸納及分析中外專家學者的文獻資料、研究報告及理論,找出任務型教學法的優異之處,並搭配全身反應教學法,設計適合海外兒童的華語教材原則及方針,製作示範型的教學雛型。 過程中經由文獻及需求分析,綜合教學者觀點及實際範例設計後,本研究得到以下結論: 一、在理論與教學設計方面,任務型教學活動在兒童華語學習過程中的應用,符合兒童語言及發展需求,幫助兒童將課堂所學實際應用在真實世界中,提高兒童學習興趣及增加學習成效。 二、在課堂實作層面,任務型教學活動以溝通為目的,以學生為教學本體,重視學習歷程,能增強海外兒童學習華語的興趣和動力,並培養華語的自學能力。 三、未來教學發展與建議方面,以任務型教學活動應用於海外兒童華語教材的出版,期望各方一同關注,產官學界同心協力,培訓兒童華語師資,以開拓兒童華語教學發展,並增進台灣華語教學在國際舞台的影響力。
This thesis attempts to formulate principles for applying task-based activities to Chinese teaching materials for overseas Chinese children based on qualitative research methods, such as content analysis and naturalistic observation, including questionnaires and interviews. This paper consists of a brief introduction followed by five chapters. The introduction presents the background, motivation and aim for this study; and it defines the important terms. Chapter Two is devoted to child development, social constructivism, the significance of interaction and a discussion of TPR and task-based language teaching. Chapter Three describes the research methods and procedures used in this study. Chapter Four analyzes the current state of teaching materials and Chinese language curricula in the Philippines. Chapter Five formulates principles for applying task-based activities to Chinese teaching materials aimed at overseas Chinese children and then provides an example of teaching materials based on task-based language teaching. In Chapter Six, a general conclusion for the entire thesis is presented and lastly, suggestions for further research are offered.
