A thermal conductivity study of freezing method for tunnel constructions is analyzed in this paper using finite element simulations. The numerical analysis is performed by using ABAQUS, which considers temperature boundary conditions, density of soil, thermo conductivity of soil, specific heat of soil, and latent heat of soil. The applicability of the simulation results is evaluated by comparing with the on-site observation of the ground freezing test carried out in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. Further, influence factors on the freezing behavior are studied by adjusting the strength of freezing and the number of freezing pipes.
