Extracardiac rhabdomyomas are rare benign tumors that most frequently affect the soft tissues of the head and neck region. According to the pathogenesis, rhabdomyoma in the head and neck region are believed to originate from skeletal muscle of the third and fourth branchial arches. This report of a patient with laryngeal rhabdomyoma presented with symptoms of persistent progressive hoarseness and a foreign body sensation in the throat. It is difficult to identify tumor nature prior to surgical intervention. Laryngofissure was used to excise the tumor totally. The histopatho logical examination and immunohisto-chemistry stain with a myogenic marker indicated an adult laryngeal rhabdomyoma. Postoperative videostroboscopy in the outpatient department indicated no recurrence of tumor with good voice quality.
