In the event of dental trauma, most of the Taiwan patients are treated at the nearest medical institution. It is a good choice for both patients and dentists if dental materials in hand can be used as a flexible splint for the root fracture. Although the survival rate of cervical root fracture is relatively low, we should follow the IADT treatment guidelines and fully communicate and respect the patients and their families with shared-decision-making for a more harmonious doctor-patient relationship. This case report describes a 10-year-old male. We used the orthodontic ligation wire and composite resin to form a flexible splint for the fracture of coronal 1/3 root of the left upper lateral incisor. Postoperative follow-up showed a good healing of the wound.
