Fabrication of BSCCO Thin Films Using Thermal Evaporation Technique

High Tc Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-0 thin films were prepared on MgO substrate using thermal evaporation technique with Tc onset at 85 K and Tc0 at 78 K. A mixture of BisO3, SrF2 and CaF2 in approapriate proportion was evaporated from one source and copper metal from another source. The films were oxydized at 400°C, deflourinated at 725°C and annealed at 855°C. The XRD studies reveal prominantly formed 2212 phase.
