台灣版SNOT-20鼻及鼻竇炎評估量表的認證

Validation of the Taiwanese Version of the 20-Item Sino-nasal Outcome Test

摘要

BACKGROUND: A measure of health related quality of life is important in clinical outcome research for sinonasal diseases. The purpose of this study was to translate and validate the Taiwanese version of the 20-item Sinonasal Outcome Test (TWSNOT-20).METHODS: From March of 2008 to July of 2009, volunteers without sinonasal diseases, patients with allergic rhinitis and patients with chronic rhinosinusitis were collected to test TWSNOT-20 in the Department of Otolaryngology, Taichung Veterans General Hospital. Two weeks later, volunteers did the test again, and patients with allergic rhinitis did the test again if they did not received medical treatment and their symptoms did not change. In addition to TWSNOT-20, patients with chronic rhinosinusitis also received nasoendoscopy and medical treatment for 2 months. After treatment, they did the test and received nasoendoscopy again.RESULTS: Twenty health volunteers, 21 patients with allergic rhinitis and 45 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis were enrolled. The median TWSNOT-20 scores of health volunteers, patients with allergic rhinitis and those with chronic rhinosinutis were 8(0-56), 36(0-76) and 32(6-82). The TWSONT-20 demonstrated good test-retest reliability (p<0.0001) and internal consistency (Cronbach's α=0.936). There were significantly differences in the scores between health volunteers and patients with allergic rhinitis as well as those with chronic rhinosinutis. Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis showed significant differences in nasoendoscopy and TWSNOT-20 scores before and after treatment (p-0.008 and 0.024).CONCLUSION: The TWSNOT-20 is reliable and valid for measuring health related quality of life in Taiwanese patients with sinonasal diseases.
