服務學習是一種結合理論與實務的課程,受到國際的服務學習思潮的影響,我國的服務學習方案愈受重視,加入推廣的單位與組織也愈來愈多。服務學習在高等教育或高齡教育是一種創新的教育理念,它提供了促進社區發展與自我成長的經驗學習機會,同時我國在高齡人口結構之下,為高齡者提供服務學習的機會也形成了一種重要趨勢。 本文透過文獻探討,首先,說明服務學習的意涵與類型,其次,說明高齡者參與服務學習的重要性與功能,再者,探討服務學習的理論基礎,接著,探析服務學習的起源、模式、現況與障礙,最後則提出因應的促進策略,期盼對於政府部門、自願服務運用單位、高齡學習者有所啟發。具體策略如下:(一)政府部門:1.應重視高齡者服務學習,多提供高齡者學習機會與管道;(二)自願服務運用單位:1.設立一個專責的辦公室或服務學習中心;2.多加瞭解高齡者的身心特質,安排適應個別差異的服務工作;3.重視高齡者的學習內容,提供滿足學習需求之課程與環境;4.建立志工支持網絡及輔導制度,協助高齡志工面對服務學習挫折;5.自願服務單位的教職員應多與高齡者對話,提昇其學習動機並多給予鼓勵;6.建立安全的言論情境,讓高齡志工進行經驗、感覺的分享;(三)高齡學習者:1.體認參與服務學習的重要性,並以積極的態度主動參與,以提高生活滿意度;2.將參與服務學習活動視為老年生活規劃的一部分。
Service-learning is the curriculum which combines the theories and practices. By the national effect of the service learning trend, many units and organizations pay more attentions to service learning programs. Service learning is a new innovate educational idea in higher education and it provides the opportunity to promote the community development. In the structure of older people, providing the opportunity for the elders to learn is an important trend. The study is to explore the strategies of the elders' service learning. The research method is literature analysis. first, to explain the meanings and the strategies of service learning .Second, to explain the importance and functions of the elders to participate the service learning. Third, to explore the theory foundations of the service learning. Fourth, to explore the origin, the models and the situation of the service learning. Finally, the study offers some strategies for the government, the applying units, and the elder learners.
