In this study, we developed active noise control (ANC) techniques for three-dimensional enclosures. The H(subscript ∞) robust control algorithm is employed to synthesis the controller. The traditional multiple-channel adaptive feedforward control method and narrow-band adaptive feedback control method are also presented in this paper. The performance of these control algorithms is compared. Proper positions and numbers of actuators and sensors to achieve approximately global control are investigated. The proposed algorithms are implemented by using a single floating-point digital signal processor (DSP). Experiments to verify the effectiveness of the presented methods are conducted on an rectangular wooden box.
