By X-ray micro-densitometry test, there is no significant difference in average percentage of latewood between seedling and sprouting China-fir. The average percentage of latewood of them increase linearly with increasing age. There is no significant difference in average gravity between seedling and sprouting China-fir. The average gravity of them increase linearly towards bark. The average ring width of seedling China-fir is greater than that of sprouting China-fir. And the average ring width decreases from pith to bark. During the first ten years, ring width decreases rapidly. While the width of 10th-15th growth ring decreases smoothly, after the 15th annual ring, the width of annual ring becomes stable.
