Art songs is a combination of music and literature in the shortest, precise and pure form. This essay was written from the pointview of a singer and an interpreter, to analyze five art songs composed by Cfa Yiu and poet Ya Hsien, "The Mad Woman", "The Women", "Kun Ling", "Snake Clothes" and "The Nun", and to explain the female images that composer and poet want to express respectively. By writing this essay, it is a retrospect of the origin of art songs in Taiwan and looking forward to the possibility of future development.
