Reflections on the Exhibition of Ethnicity: Observations from Post-Authoritarian Taiwan

摘要

在臺灣自威權時代向民主化轉變的過程中，我們觀察到博物館出現的族群熱現象及其隱憂。本文首先回顧臺灣人類學已出現的諸多反省，從尊重土著觀點到發聲政治、社區賦權、文化權的支持等，思維視野己帶到了新的至高點，但問題卻持續存在。我們繼而檢視臺灣威權慣習制約下的社會條件與歷史遺留，並通過「文化再現」與「展覽規訓」兩個層次的討論，展開對同一性政治的批判。最後從人類學的角度，提出我們對博物館「人／群」新定位的幾點看法。

Dealing with the underlying problems of ethnicization in the development of museums in post-authoritarian Taiwan, this article first reviews some anthropological reflections on this subject, namely respect for indigenous points of view, politics of voice, community empowerment, and defense of cultural rights. But despite the high level of theoretical discourse, problems still exist. We think that it’s necessary to reassess the historical impact of the traditionalist paradigm inherited from the authoritarian era, and to carry out a critique of identity politics through a focus on two aspects: cultural representation and exhibitionary discipline. Finally, we propose some ideas, from an anthropological perspective, for a repositioning of the concept of ＂human/population＂ in museums.
