This paper is a precursor of the complete revision of the Taiwan Boraginaceae. An enumeration of 12 genera and 24 taxa, including new combinations Cordia aspera G. Forster subsp. kanehirai (Hayata) H.-Y. Liu comb. nov. and Heliotropium procumbens Mill. var. depressum (Cham.) H.-Y. Liu. comb, nov, is provided.
