植物對氮氧化物及硫氧化物淨化效能評估

Assessment of the Purifying Efficiency of Trees to Nitrogen Oxides and Sulfur Oxides

本研究選取19種常見之綠化樹木作為試驗植物,將試驗植物分別置於高污染區域(試驗區)及空氣品質較佳地區(對照區),在土壤條件控制於一致條件下,比較空氣中氮氧化物及硫氧化物濃度對植物葉內含氮及含硫量之差異,並進行試驗植物對此二種空氣污染物之淨化能力評估。研究結果發現,置於試驗區之植物葉片內含氮量為對照區樹種之99%~123%,而含硫量則為對照區之1.36~3.34倍。試驗區及對照區植物葉片中氮含量在第一次與第二次採樣間之相關係數均達0.99以上,而試驗區及對照區葉片中硫含量在兩次採樣間之相關係數亦有0.94及0.91,顯示無論是試驗區或對照區內之樹種兩次採樣期暴露於環境中之氮氧化物或硫氧化物對葉片中氮或硫含量影響具有相當之一致性。而各試驗樹種中對氮氧化物及硫氧化物淨化能力最佳者分別為毛柿及白水木,而最差者則分別為欖仁及苦楝;至於對此二種污染物之綜合淨化能力最強及最弱者則分別為毛柿及香楠。

The objective of this study is to assess the purifying efficiency of 19 common trees to nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides. We put the testing plants at high polluted area (experimental area) and low polluted area (check area). The contents of the nitrogen and sulfur in leaf samples of the plants grown at experimental area and check area in the same potting soil conditions were measured and compared. All these data were used to evaluate the purifying efficiency of the tree samples. The results indicated that the contents of nitrogen and sulfur in leaf samples at experimental area were higher than those of check area by 99~123% and 136~334%, respectively. The coefficients of correlation were investigated by measuring the total nitrogen and the total sulfur contents in leaves between the first and second samples at experimental area and check area were both 0.99 for nitrogen and 0.94 and 0.91 for sulfur, respectively. It indicated that the growth situations were not significant difference between first and second sample times at both experimental area and check area. The highest nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides purifying capability among all tested trees were Diospyros morrisiana and Messerschmidia argentea, respectively; the lowest purifying capabilities were Terminalia catappa and Melia azedarach, respectively. The combined purifying capability results of both nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides shown that the Diospyros morrisiana was the highest and the Machilus zuihoensis was the lowest.
