摘要

Objectives: This investigation examines the validity and reliability of scales clarify the Yin Element in Women’s Bodies in Chinese Medicine. Materials and Methods: The preliminary scales were established through literature reviews and the questioning of ten experts in the area to analyze the ability of the items to represent. After selecting an appropriate descriptor for a questionnaire, 634 clinical nurse were selected for pre-testing to establish the construct validity and internal reliability. Principal components factor analysis with Promax oblique rotation was employed to examine the underlying dimensions and identified four factors: reduced body temperature, physical weakness, water retention and reduced digestive function. The cumulative explained were 61.38% while Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of internal consistency was 0.82, and the Pearson’s correlation of the four factors 0.439~0.148 (p<0.01). The scale was retested for 619 nursing students. The factor analysis was also stable for this group and the cumulative explained were 62.8%, Cronbach’s alpha= 0.85. The Test-retest correlations coefficients were 0.74(p<0.01) ICC(1,1)=0.85. Conclusion: The scale was demonstrated to be valid and reliable and It can be used in future studies of women’s health.
