關於「咸宜園」中庶民教育型態之探討

A Study of Commoners Education in Kangien

摘要


近年來,當學者在探討日本近代化的過程時,重新檢視近代以前的階段,對江戶時帶重新評價的趨勢強烈可見。學者們積極地從政治、經濟、文化、城市規劃等各種角度來分析江戶時代。其中,作者將視線聚焦於江戶時代的教育,並以探究當時的教育型態為主要的課題。在本論文中,作者注重於江戶時代屬於庶民教育機構的私塾,特別設定由儒者廣瀨淡窓創辦的咸宜園為研究對象。論文中主要針對以下4點做分析:(一)在以往的先行研究中被題出質疑的有關私塾名稱之解釋問題,(二)咸宜園教育的魅力,(三)咸宜園在庶民教育中扮演的角色,(四)在現代,咸宜園所像徵的意義。透過本論文的分析,作者嘗試提出一個在先行研究中被忽略的觀點,或題出不同於既有研究成果的新見解。此為,在訂一咸宜園魚姜護時待所辦眼的角色之後,確認本論文中未及深入探討的課題,將其做為今後延伸研究的主題。

In recent years, it seems to be a trend for scholars to reevaluate the Edo period while exploring the process of Japan's modernization, and most of the studies are mainly concerned about its politics, economy, culture and urban planning. This paper, however, focuses on the education circumstances of the Edo era. The research takes Kangien that was founded by Hirose Tanso, a Confucian, as example to study private academy for commoners during the Edo era. It discusses various interpretations of the name of private academy done by other researchers, alongside the charm of Kangien in education. In addition, the role of Kangien in commoners' education and the significance of Kangien in modern society are examined. Through the analysis, the author proposes a viewpoint that was neglected by previous studies and suggests an insight distinguished from other papers. When the definition and the role of Kangien are fixed, the issues not discussed in this paper are to be further examined in future research projects.
