The purposes of this study were to investigate the difference between perceived coaches' leadership and intrinsic motivation among players with different gender and scholarship status, and to examine the relationship between perceived coaches' leadership and intrinsic motivation. The participants of this study were 708 collegiate students (Male: 364, female: 344). Their average age, playing experience were 19.72±2.41 and 6.93±4.37 years, respectively. All participants completed demographic data, Leadership Scale for Sport (LSS), and Intrinsic Motivation Questionnaire (IMI) during non competition period. The results indicated that there was no interaction between perceived coaches' leadership and gender or scholarship status among all players whereas there was significant interaction between intrinsic motivation and gender or scholarship. Finally, intrinsic motivation was found positively correlated to all other coaches' leaderships but autocratic behavior.
